Cannaregio 2899
Telephone 041 718 833
Officially opened in 1981 with the twofold aim to
"create value to the book and archivist heritage"

the Jewish civilization and culture and particularly of the
Jews in Venice and in Italy. Thanks to the contribution of
the Veneto Region, it has found, in 1991, a new modern arrangement
in the building near the Jewish Museum , thus integrating
in the panorama of the Venetian libraries.
The library offers to scholars and specialists any assistance
for archive research and for the elaboration of university
dissertations, putting on disposition its section of history,
religion, fiction, the almost 600 archive files (scheduled
with the contribution of the Municipality of Venice, of the
Veneto Region and of the Archive superintendence for the Veneto
